About Mòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail Ghlaschu 2026

The Royal National Mòd is an annual festival of Gaelic language, music and culture. It is held in a different location in Scotland every year, and is coming to Glasgow from 9 - 17 October 2026.

The Mòd gives people of all ages from across Scotland and beyond the opportunity to come together and perform in a range of competitions including traditional music and Gaelic song, storytelling and poetry.

The Royal National Mòd is organised by An Comunn Gàidhealach and you can find more information on their website.

In addition to the Royal National Mòd, local Mòds run throughout Scotland across the year, including:

• Glasgow Local Mòd
• East Kilbride Local Mòd
• North Lanarkshire Local Mòd
• and many more!

The entry system for the Royal National Mòd is on the An Comunn Gàidhealach website. Entries must be complete on their system before midnight on 31st May 2026.

To celebrate the Mòd coming to Glasgow, we will be running a series of events in the year leading up to October 2026 - find out more on our Events page.

We are looking for volunteers to help us make Mòd Ghlaschu 2026 a success. We need volunteers:

• in the year running up to October 2026, to help plan and run events
• during Mòd week, to help set up venues, direct competitors, chair competitions and much more!
